It is NERLEI’s mission to protect the interests of each of its members and the Region in general, always with the aim of adapting those interests to other areas of society, namely cultural and social, and also to what is most important, the Country.

Therefore, its principal objectives are to systematically cover areas that are of interest to the business and economic community of the Region and to promote projects that will enhance the economic and business development of the District of Leiria.

To achieve these objectives NERLEI carries out various initiatives: it promotes associative activities and cooperation between businessmen; it collaborates with public and private institutions, to reduce constraints that affect the proper functioning of companies in the Region; it strives for the reinforcement of regional development infrastructures; it collaborates with local governments and municipal associations in the creation and use of public business infrastructures; it identifies needs and encourages partnerships in the creation of projects; it promotes professional training courses directed towards companies; it organises colloquia, conferences, expositions and exhibitions and dinner-conferences.
